Event description

Description

The AWSRG is Australia's premier group of wildlife sound recordists. We're a friendly lot, rather informal, with a diversity of interests and focuses. Our membership ranges from passionate amateurs to some of the countries' top professionals, and many embody a lifetime of experience as field naturalists.

Every two years we get together for a week of sharing ideas, research, field recording skills, technologies and a glass of red wine or two. We meet at a secluded natural location, suitable for getting out and making recordings in suitable interesting habitat. In addition to skill development through these practical field sessions, we offer a program of talks and presentations. Of an evening, the artists among us will often put together innovative environmental music performances.

This year's event will offer a range of acccomodation, from camping to basic bunk rooms, with the option of finding local private accommodation. We will be fully catered for the week (looks to be delicious!). Accommodation and catering costs are separate to this ticket (which is for the event only), and will need to be paid at the event directly.

Our conference will be a week of immersion in the sounds of the natural world; recording, documenting, analysing, appreciating and responding creatively. We welcome anyone who'd like to attend this event to get in touch and join us.
