Dr Noel Rutherford, discusses with Karen Crofts, Director, Hunter Writers Centre the valiant story of the 2/2nd Battalion, AIF.

Raised in Newcastle, the Battalion was sent to Greece in April 1941 to hold the German advance while allied troops were evacuated, what followed was a desperate fight and remarkable display of courage, join us as we remember their story.

Dr Noel Rutherford is a teacher, writer and academic. Born at Weston, he was Associate Professor of History at the University of Newcastle, and is the author of three books on the history of the South Pacific.
