Australian Mountain Bike Summit

Mt Buller will host the third annual Australian Mountain Bike Summit on 5-6 December 2016, a critical forum dedicated purely to the needs of the mountain bike industry.

The Summit will offer a two-day program featuring national and international guests covering a  range of topics. There will also be some great networking opportunities and scheduled rides, so you can enjoy the world-class Mt Buller Bike Park and it's varied terrain and facilities.

This year’s speakers include:

  • Glen Jacobs, Director of World Trail
  • Mountain Bike Australia
  • Lindsey Voreis, Director of Ladies AllRide (USA)
  • Andrew Liddawi, founder of Break the Boundary
  • Tim Watson, GM of Dorset Council (Blue Derby)

Please note: due to unforeseen circumstances, previously announced speakers Charlie Sturgis and Bradley Fauteux will no longer be speaking at the Summit. Changes have been made to the program to reflect this.

Bringing together the latest trends in the industry plus feedback from previous delegates, a huge program is planned with a range of keynote addresses and workshops to appeal to all facets of the mountain bike industry. Topics that will be covered include:

  • The latest Australian mountain bike market profile research findings;
  • eMTBs: love them or hate them - they’re here to stay;
  • Social media: spreading the word at the lowest cost;
  • Clubs - best practice and lessons from successful, sustainable bike clubs;
  • Adaptive mountain biking - inclusion of off-road handcycles in the MTB community;
  • Trail Standards and Professional Certification Project Working Group - update and work to date;
  • Grant application writing: practical assistance;
  • Master Planning: Strategy to Execution - Creating Mountain Biking Mecca in Western Australia
  • Workshop with Parks Victoria
