6.00PM TUE 20 MAR 2018
QAG | JOSEPHINE ULRICK & WIN SCHUBERT GALLERIES | BOOK NOW

In this special after-hours event in conjunction with the Asia Pacific Architecture Forum 2018, discover an architect's perspective on QAGOMA's newly reopened Australian Collection with Kevin O'Brien, founder of Kevin O'Brien Architects, a Brisbane-based, award winning architecture practice in Queensland, Australia.

This event is part of the Asia Pacific Architecture Forum 2018, an initiative of Architecture Media and State Library of Queensland.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

The reimagined Australian Collection captures major historical moments from first contact to colonisation, and exploration to immigration. Bringing the Indigenous and contemporary Australian collections together with the Gallery’s historical holdings, the display emphasises stories about Queensland and Brisbane from the region’s own perspective. The Australian Collection is QAGOMA’s first step towards returning the Queensland Art Gallery building, as closely as possible, to the intended vision of architect Robin Gibson AO, an expansive, open space with clear sightlines throughout, lending each gallery a beautiful sense of connectedness to the whole.
