Australia’s relations with Indonesia remain at the centre of discussion regarding our future strategic and economic prospects.
While bilateral relations have fluctuated since Indonesian independence, our two nations face similar challenges and incentives to work together irrespective of diplomatic relations at any point in time.
Recent decades have seen Australian and Indonesia law enforcement agencies cooperating to combat regional security issues including transitional crime, people smuggling and terrorism.
