Event description
The City of Logan is participating in the 2021 Aussie Backyard Bird Count, which will run from 18 to 24 October 2021.

About this event

The City of Logan is participating in the 2021 Aussie Backyard Bird Count, from 18 to 24 October, along with many other Cities across Australia.

Logan City Council is proud to sponsor this event, which is run by BirdLife Australia.

The Aussie Backyard Bird Count is an activity for all ages that involves observing and counting the birds that live near you, whether that's in your garden, the local park, a beach or even your town centre.

By letting BirdLife Australia know about the birds you've seen within a 20 minute period, you will help BirdLife Australia to develop an understanding of local birds, while getting to know the wildlife on your doorstep.

From 18 to 24 October, during National Bird Week you can participate by setting aside 20 minutes to stand or sit in one spot and note the birds that you see. You will need to count the number of each species you spot, for example, you might see 4 Australian magpies, 2 Rainbow Lorikeets and a Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo.

Then submit your bird count through an online web form at aussiebirdcount.org.au or via the free Aussie Bird Count app.
