Auslan Training Package Draft 1 Consultation – Adelaide

Currently there are four qualifications in Auslan, that exist as accredited courses (accredited in Victoria but able to be delivered nationally by registered training organisations). The accreditation of these courses expires on 31 December 2017 and will not be renewed. SkillsIQ, under the direction of the Public Sector Industry Reference Committee and the Auslan Technical Advisory Committee, is in the process of moving the content of these accredited courses into the national Training Package format, for endorsement by the Australian Industry & Skills Committee. Draft 1 of these Training Package products, consisting of four qualifications in Auslan from Certificate II through to Diploma and 15 associated units of competency, is now open for consultation and feedback.

This workshop is designed to gather stakeholder feedback on the Draft 1 Training Package products. We encourage all stakeholders to participate, particularly members of the Deaf community who are users of Auslan. Auslan interpreters will be in attendance to translate where required. Please note numbers for the workshop will be limited to ensure that all views from both Deaf and hearing participants can be captured accurately with the involvement of the interpreters.
