Overview
All are welcome at our fortnightly Auslan storytime at North Ryde Library! These sessions are run in partnership with Deaf Connect.
Auslan Storytime offers fun and interactive storytelling aimed at supporting early literacy development in Auslan and written English.
Led by our partners at Deaf Connect, these sessions are tailored for deaf and hard of hearing children, but all are welcome! No prior experience or knowledge of Auslan is required.
As well as deaf and hard of hearing families, Auslan Storytime is a great opportunity for:
- Families looking for weekend storytime sessions
- Families with children who used baby sign language and are keen to keep fostering bilingual communication
- People of all ages with friends, colleagues or classmates who use Auslan some or all of the time
- Professionals wanting to build or practice their Auslan skills
- Anyone who is interested!
