Get audition-ready as you learn the skills of audition preparation.
This full workshop day will provide you with the opportunity to practice, present and perfect your material. You will be guided through the process of applying for a Performing Arts program and audition preparation by our respected Arts Academy staff.
The workshops includes:
Dance: This component will simulate our dance audition and give key pointers related to preparation.
Voice: Learn how to embody your voice confidently and clearly in performance.
Singing: Discover essential knowledge on song selection, performance techniques and how to talk to an accompanist. Participants are encouraged to bring sheet music for a musical theatre song of their choice.
Monologue: Discover how to work on your monologue for the audition. Participants will be guided through text, verse and all its variance enabling the applicant to be fully prepared for the audition.
Audition application process: Guidance on completing the application for audition forms, VTAC requirements, Direct Applications and ABC letters.
What will I wear? Please wear comfortable clothes that youare able to move in. No jeans, belts, skirts or dresses.
What will I bring? Please make sure that you have your own named water bottle which is re-fillable. Participants are encouraged to bring sheet music for a musical theatre song of their choice. If you have trainers or jazz shoes, please bring them with you to the workshop.
Please note: Participants should check for any amendments prior to registration. Class sizes are limited. The Arts Academy also reserves the right to cancel the workshop if the minimum number of enrolments is not achieved by the week proceeding the workshop start dates.
