AND

1000 MILES FROM CARE - SYDNEY'S NORTH SHORE TALK BY JIM HAYNES OAM

This is a unique 'twice only' opportunity to meet with Manly Art Gallery & Museum Senior Curator Katherine Roberts to experience the exhibitions Home Affairs and Photographs from the Sydney Morning Herald archive - plus enjoy a talk by broadcaster Jim Haynes about the harbour's northern shore - '1000 Miles From Care'.

Your special experience begins with an enlightening forty minute visual presentation by author, historian and entertainer Jim Haynes OAM, who will tell you some of the history of the North Shore, the ferries, the beaches and the artists who painted ‘the finest harbour in the world’ from the north side.

After a break for morning tea, Katherine Roberts, Senior Curator, Manly Art Gallery & Museum, will guide you through the story and highlights of the current Home Affairs exhibition, featuring a fascinating collection of paintings and sculpture by Sydney artists on the theme, and the exhibition of archival SMH photographs unearthed in the USA and brought home to the Northern Beaches.
