'Assistive Technology in the Age of the Device for Learning Difficulties'
Facilitated by Mark Cottee NDCO Region 15.

This workshop is hands-on and will explore the potentials and limitations when considering assistive technology for students with learning difficulties, such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, etc.

Focusing on real examples with hands-on interactions, this workshop will give clear insight into:
- The basics, where to start;
- What works (or doesn't work) for whom and under what conditions;
- iOS devices - built-in accessibility functions;
- Toy versus tool - Applications and 'App smashing';
- Alternatives - an opportunity for group collaboration.

Housekeeping
- Attendees are encouraged to bring their own devices - tablet / smart phone / other.

- Tickets are FREE. Donations accepted at the door going towards decodable readers to be donated to local libraries.

- Arrival time is 6:45pm, for 7pm sharp start.

- Light refreshments: tea/coffee, water, cookies, etc.
