Description

Corporate volunteering with the ASRC provides a unique opportunity you to contribute your time and skills in a
meaningful way. Volunteers constitute the vast majority of the ASRC’s work to support people seeking asylum. With approximately 100 paid staff members, our 1,200 regular volunteers are the primary providers of essential services for our asylum seeker members.

During your day volunteering with ASRC, you will work alongside our staff, regular volunteers and members in our Foodbank and Community Meals programs. You may be required to chop vegetables, stock shelves, assist members with their enquiries and help tidy up the space. We also provide a free community lunch and invite you to join us at 12:45pm.

After volunteer work is complete with Foodbank and community meals, our team will guide you through a tour of our Centre so you can learn about the issues facing people seeking asylum in our community and the other services the ASRC provides. You will finish the day knowing you helped make a difference in the lives of people seeking asylum and how volunteers help to support and empower people in meaningful ways.

Organised by

Founded 20 years ago, the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is Australia’s largest human rights organisation providing support to people seeking asylum.

We are an independent not-for-profit organisation whose programs support and empower people seeking asylum to maximise their own physical, mental and social well being.

We champion the rights of people seeking asylum and mobilise a community of compassion to create lasting social and policy change.

The ASRC movement is proudly supported by a community of committed volunteers and supporters.
