Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
For Building & Construction Industry workers, personnel and family
WHEN: Thurs 15th Dec AND Friday 16th Dec
WHERE: Perth CBD
TIME: 08.30am – 4.30pm both days
LUNCH: BYO, cafes also available nearby
MORNING & AFTERNOON TEA: provided along with free tea and coffee making facilities.
COST: $350+GST and Eventbrite fees. (Construction Training Fund support is available for eligible workers post registration).
ASIST 2 day interactive training equips individuals to become an ASIST-trained worker. ASIST workers can be compared to the first aid officer on site. ASIST participants will learn how to talk to a person contemplating suicide with the intention of reaching “safety for now”, preventing the immediate risk of suicide while developing a “safe plan” and connecting to other help. Over 1,000,000 people world-wide have completed the workshop, and studies have proven that the ASIST method helps reduce suicidal feelings for those at risk. This workshop is specifically aimed at those working in the building and construction industry.
Participants must attend the full 2 days to be eligible for this internationally recognised suicide prevention certification. A minimum of 10 participants is required.
