Join Mollie on an experiental 3 week journey through the fundamental aspects of the Ashtanga Method.

In this 3 week course you will gain all of the tools you need for a self practice, as well as learn the foundations of the Primary Series + philosophy to support. And hopefully fall in love with the Ashtanga Practice just as Mollie did! :)

week 1 ;
x learn about the Ashtanga Method, how it came to be and discuss why we practice
x explore the Eight Limbs of Yoga
x learn the Pranayama techniques used in the Ashtanga Method
x solidify your Suryanamaskara practice

week 2 ;
x discuss the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali
x explore the discipline of a self practice
x Suryanamaskara
x Standing Series w/ balancing poses

week 3 ;
x Suryanamaskara
x Standing Series
x introduction to the Jump back/ Jump through
x start to explore the Seated Series
x learn the Closing Series modified w/ Headstand
x put it all together for a self practice

The whole 3 week course is recommended, however drop in's are welcomed.

Bookings are essential, as numbers are capped to keep the class small to ensure adjustments + personalised modifications are provided.

There will be the Primary Series sequence sheet available for $20 - this is a very handy tool to develop a self practice at home.

This workshop is perfect for the beginner to Ashtanga, to the advanced practitioner looking to refine + practice the foundations that are often forgotten over time.
Mollie asks that each attendee be over 16 years of age.

About the Facilitator :

Mollie Cox of Jala Yoga is a passionate Ashtanga practitioner and marine conservationist. She is a qualified RYT500 Ashtanga teacher with over 5 years of maintaining a (6) daily Ashtanga self practice, and over a decade of regular yoga practice. She teaches Ashtanga is an accessible, authentic way, with a progressive alignment focussed approach that honours the source of this practice as well as the individual practitioner.
Mollie follows the direct lineage of Sri K Pattabhi Jois + Sharath Jois, via her teachers Mark Robberds, Deepika Mehta and Yogacharya Lalit Kumar.
