Description

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a a neuro-developmental disorder that can cause significant social, communication, and behavioral challenges for the sufferer as well as the parents of the child.

Parents of children with autism experience more stress than parents of typical-developing children which can put stress on their marriage, other children, work, finances, and personal relationships and responsibilities.

This workshop is designed to give parents a better understanding of ASD and provides practical tools and skills that will enable them to improve the communication with their child and reduce the stress of caring for them.

The workshop is based on experiential learning and parents will go through various exercises, designed to challenge their communication, behaviour and thinking.

Although this workshop is beneficial for parents and carers of ASD children, health professionals are welcome to join.
