Event description
Join artist Maxxi Minaxi May as she discusses her work in the current exhibition Matter.

About this event

Maxxi Minaxi May is a multidisciplinary artist who primarily works with sculpture, mixed-media, printmaking and installation.

She considers the Anthropocene/Symbiocene, remixing interrelationships between the industrial and the everyday, the environment, representation, consumerism and popular culture. Colour, play, humour, repetition, collected objects, craft, design and juxtaposition are often seen in her works.

May’s artwork Deconstructing Beauty (2003) is exhibited within Matter: Works from the Cruthers Collection of Women’s Art.

Join her to hear of its production and context, whilst learning more about her diverse associated practice.
