Description

Amy Clarke - Painting the landscape using memory, intuition and colour

Tuesday 26 February, 10.30

Amy Clarke’s abstract landscape paintings draw largely on memory. She enjoys travelling into nature and often does small works on paper in situ. Returning to the studio she will draw on the memories and feeling of being in the landscape to create larger works. Amy will talk about her process and how she is constantly challenging herself to trust her mark making as she intuitively moves the paint around to capture emotion and a sense of place. Colour also plays a significant role in bringing the work to life. She will also discuss the other creative influences in her life including her mother, Anne Everingham who was a successful Australian jeweller and paternal grandmother who also painted.

Please note: light refreshments will be served before the event. Please arrive around 15mins early to avoid disapointment.
