We are delighted to welcome Jo D’Hagé to Artisan!

Join experienced artist and educator Jo D’Hagé to delve deeper into our Expanded Discrete States: Craft + Design exhibition. This drawing session is conducted in the gallery and Artisan’s workshop, using the exhibition as a source of inspiration. It’s a unique opportunity to creatively respond to Artisan’s inaugural exhibition at King Street and receive drawing tuition from a practising artist.

What artisan workshop provides:

  • A selection of materials are provided
  • Tutored drawing session with experienced artist and educator

What you can bring:

  • Just yourself!
  • You may bring your own materials, though wet or messy materials can only be used in the workshop.

About the tutor

Dr. Jo D’Hagé is a practising artist and university lecturer with more than three decades of studio practise and art education experience. In 2017, Jo D’Hagé achieved her doctorate in visual art at the Queensland College of Art, Griffith University. During her extensive career Jo has taught at a number of universities, Queensland TAFE colleges and the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, USA. Jo believes it has been a privilege to facilitate the creative art process in her many students. About Artisan’s drawing sessions

Artisan’s drawing sessions are a series of tutored drawing sessions that take inspiration from Artisan’s exhibition program and exhibiting artists. The program is held regularly for different exhibitions and each session is an opportunity to engage with new themes. The aim of this program is to encourage visitors to engage with and respond to craft and design objects in new and creative ways.
