About this event

This talk concentrates on different skills, methods and evidence used in understanding the personality and times of Agrippina the Younger while asking the key question - how does an ancient historian approach the study of a personality in the past? Participants will be introduced to recent interpretations of Agrippina the Younger as well as to some key ancient evidence for the study of this fascinating woman from the ancient world.

Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions during Q&A.

*This talk is suitable for Year 11-12 students.

*A supervising adult must be present throughout the talk for safety purposes.

About the presenter

Dr Eleanor Cowan is an historian of the Roman Republic and the Early Imperial period and works as Lecturer in Roman History at the University of Sydney. Her research concentrates on the close examination of ancient evidence and on a variety of themes including Roman history, writers of the Augustan and Tiberian periods and Historiography.
