Ask the Artist: A Magical Mystery Bus Tour for Nillumbik artists and creatives

About this event

Ask the Artist: ARTOPIA: A Magical Mystery Bus Tour

Help us navigate the road to ARTOPIA!

PICK UP AT ELTHAM LIBRARY AT 12.45 SHARP FOR A 1PM DEPARTURE. Arrive back around 4pm.

Nillumbik creatives are invited to jump on board a roving adventure through Eltham town. This journey combines elements of consultation, co-design and mapping to explore the perfect conditions for a thriving creative community. Assist us in our art finding mission as we visit a secret garden and refuel at a cosy, nourishing rest stop.

With no planning involved from your end, all you need to pack is a raincoat, your boarding pass and your road trip fever.

Coach Captains: Nillumbik artists Debby Maziarz and Nicole Johnston from Ask the Artist

Artopia is part of our Focus Group phase of the community consultations.

We are developing a new Arts and Culture Strategy for Nillumbik Shire! An Arts and Culture Plan or Strategy for Nillumbik Shire is developed every four years. It responds directly to the strategic objectives/goals of the Council Plan in line with community needs and aspiration. The new strategy will build upon the current Arts & Cultural Plan 2018-2022.

Nillumbik has long been renowned for fostering its deep connections to the arts. We know that our artistic and cultural heritage is important to the Nillumbik community and that creative communities and grassroots art practices are inherent to the Shire.

We are now extending an an invitation to anyone who lives, works or plays in Nillumbik to share your thoughts on all things arts and culture.

Attend a focus group. The focus groups will be presented by an independent local creative facilitator. A live music or performance art act will open each focus group and a coffee/tea/chai station will be available throughout the session. A focus group is a valuable opportunity for us to delve deeper into what community wants from its Arts and Cultural Strategy. Limited spaces.
