Event description

Description

Join us for our free Art Forum Series, held throughout the year. Each forum will feature a different artist discussing their work and ideas, followed by a Q&A.

Born in Woomera, South Australia, Yhonnie Scarce belongs to the Kokatha and Nukunu peoples. Working predominantly in glass Scarce described her work as ‘politically motivated and emotionally driven’. Scarce’s work often references the on-going effects of colonisation on Aboriginal people, In particular her research focus has explored the impact of the removal and relocation of Aboriginal people from their homelands and the forcible removal of Aboriginal children from their families. Her work has been included in important national and international exhibitions including Defying Empire: the third National Indigenous Triennial.

We strongly encourage registration for all of our events. This guarantees your seat at an event and allows us to communicate any unforseen event scheduling changes with you. Please note, however, that you are not required to print your ticket prior to arrival.

The ART150 Forum Series is part of ART150: Celebrating 150 years of Art.
