Event description

Description

Join us for our free Art Forum Series, held throughout the year. Each forum will feature a different artist discussing their work and ideas, followed by a Q&A.

Canadian artists Louis Kaplan (Professor of History and Theory of Photography and New Media, University of Toronto) and Melissa Schiff (principal investigator and artistic director) are currently working on a new virtual reality/augmented reality art project ‘The Imaginary Jewish Homelands of I.N. Steinberg’ that involves two key and remote sites in Australia. The five-year collaborative research-creation grant from the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada images and imagines I.N Steinberg’s plans to settle Jewish refugees in the Kimberley region and in Port Davey Tasmania against the backdrop of the European Holocaust in the late 1930s and early 1940s.

We strongly encourage registration for all of our events. This guarantees your seat at an event and allows us to communicate any unforseen event scheduling changes with you. Please note, however, that you are not required to print your ticket prior to arrival.

The ART150 Forum Series is part of ART150: Celebrating 150 years of Art.
