Description

Immerse yourself in art and nature...mosaic in Tolderol Game Reserve

Join local artist Alison Mugford, of Ali Mugford Mosaics, to contribute to two mosaics in a stunning natural setting. Tolderol Game Reserve is a well-known bird watching spot, which attracts a wide variety of water fowl and migratory wader bird species.

This project is designed to give local communities a chance to come together and create a piece of public art to acknowledge some of the park’s iconic bird species. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn more about this beautiful reserve from Regina Durbridge of the Goolwa to Wellington Local Action Planning group, and also expand your knowledge of native bird species from John Gitsham of Birds SA.

Artist: Alison Mugford

Scientist: Regina Durbridge and John Gitsham

Location: The reserve is approximately 11km south-east of the township of Langhorne Creek between Milang and Wellington. Follow the Langhorne Creek to Wellington Road, turn right onto Dog Lake Road (unsealed). At the end of this road (approximately 9 kilometres), there is a gate (private property) travel through this (please ensure you leave the gate as you found it). Follow the track to the left, then through another gate and into the reserve.

Cost: $12 per person. Lunch will be supplied.

The Inspiring South Australia program is supported by the Australian Government through the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science, the South Australian Department of State Development, the University of Adelaide, the University of South Australia, Flinders University and the South Australian Museum.
