Event description

Description

In June, Mark Dober will relate relevant works in the current NGV exhibition (supplemented by works not in the exhibition), to the unfolding story of Van Gogh's time at Arles and St Remy. Mark has spent time in both places and will show images of the specific sites where Van Gogh made his paintings while discussing the significance of this period in his career.

This Art History Club topic will provide an excellent primer for those who have not yet visited the NGV exhibition, as well as an opportunity for those who have to share their thoughts and consolidate understandings of the influences and themes in Van Gogh's work.

We’ll have tea and coffee available and attendance is free. Everybody is welcome, from the art aficionado to the absolute beginner, it is an opportunity to learn about art and share your interests with a like-minded inquisitive group.

Please note: Art History Club will take place on Tuesday 13 June due to the Queen's Birthday public holiday.
