*********

Join us for a lively discussion about the role of new and emergent technologies in the visual arts and contemporary culture. Moderated by Rae Johnston – multi-award-winning STEM journalist, Science and Technology Editor for NITV, host of That Startup Show – this panel will consider what it means to live, work and create in the pre-history of the future.

Bringing together Lu Yang, exhibiting artist in Feedback Loops and the Sinofuturist program, along with Professor Uwe Aickelin, Head of School of Computing and Information Systems at University of Melbourne, and Dr Claire Roberts, Associate Professor Art History at University of Melbourne, discussions will traverse developments in motion capture, mining virtual libraries of code, artificial intelligence, gaming and computer generated imagery.

This forum is co-presented with The University of Melbourne and AsiaTOPA 2020’s Sinofuturist program, with the support of Arts Centre Melbourne and the Sidney Myer Fund.
