What is in Saneyyet Kafta?
Saneyyet Kafta is a popular dish in Palestine and Mediterranean cuisine.
Saneyyeh in Arabic means a Baking Pan, Saneyyet Kafta means kafta in baking pan, usually topped with potatoes, onions, tomatoes, and simmered with a seasoned tomato sauce or Tahini.
Kafta is made with spiced ground meat (beef and lamb) mixed with chopped onion and parsley. It is very simple to make and tastes wonderful grilled in the summertime, or in a casserole just like this one.
Harisseh
A moist dense cake with the tang of yogurt, the sweetness of honey and a hint of rose. This cake is so popular it goes by three different names all over the levant. The Lebanese call this cake Namoura, the Palestinians call it Harisseh, and the Egyptians call it Basbousa. No matter what you call this cake, the flavor is universally delicious! Semolina is the main ingredient to make this cake with fragrant simple syrup.
