Event description

Description

In the fourth lecture in this series, Are we happy at work?, Associate Dean, Management, in the School of Business and Law, Professor Stephen Teo, will examine what affects our happiness at work.

Work is an important part of our lives. Our happiness at work can be affected by factors such as organisational change and workplace ill treatment. Organisational change is common and results in both positive and negative impacts on the work, physical and psychological wellbeing of employees. Similarly, organisational change has been shown to result in the prevalence of workplace ill treatment such as incivility and workplace bullying.

Professor Stephen Teo will present the findings from several empirical studies which his research team have conducted in the last six years on how organisational and personal factors have impacted on workplace happiness in public sector agencies in Australia, New Zealand, UK, USA and Vietnam in the context of organisational change.
