Overview:

This workshop, for those considering applying for competitive research funding now or in the future, will provide:

  1. Strategies to build an excellent research track record capable of winning an ARC grant
  2. Hints and tips for presenting the track record (ROPE) sections in an ARC grant proposal
  3. An opportunity to discuss your draft ROPE statements with your peers and/or ARC Panel experts and receive feedback

Order of events:

  • Brief introduction:
    Dr Debbie Thackray, Executive Officer Science and Engineering Grant Success Panels
  • What assessors look for in an ARC proposal’s track record sections:
    Prof. Hong Hao, ARC Panel Assessor and Laureate Fellow
  • Building an excellent research track record:
    Debbie Silvester-Dean, FT and WA Young Tall Poppy Science Award
  • Questions and discussion
  • ADDITIONAL OPTIONAL HALF HOUR session (1:30-2:00pm): table discussions with the opportunity to get feedback on your track record and/or your written ARC ROPE statement
