Arabian Nights Meets Prince of Persia - Flavours of Auburn Community Banque...
Thu. 3 November 2016, 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm AEDT
Since 2001 the House of Welcome (HoW) have worked alongside people seeking asylum. Front and centre for the HoW is to create a space where some of the most vulnerable people in our community can live with dignity, safety and security. Our programs are designed to alleviate the impacts of social isolation, marginalisation and discrimination experienced by people seeking asylum through initiatives that nurture hope, advocate for justice and promote self-reliance.
Through our offices in Carramar and Auburn the HoW provides transitional accommodation, casework services, empowerment programs, community development initiatives and critical financial aid.
Our offices are located in Local Government Areas with the highest number of refugees and asylum seekers in Sydney so we are easily accessible to the people who need us most.
Join us for a feast for the senses! After a delicious Middle Eastern meal cooked by our very own Welcome Feast chefs and entertainment, go home with a full tummy and a full spirit, knowing that you’ve contributed to the delivery of weekly lunches, English and employment programs, social enterprise endeavours and respite weekends for our clients for another year.
