The Workshop ASIST is an intensive, hands-on course designed to help caregivers learn to identify the risk of suicide and to intervene in preventing immediate suicide risk. The training is based on adult learning principles, uses a range of innovative resources and encourages participants to actively share in the learning process. ASIST has become the foremost suicide prevention training program in the world.

Although ASIST is widely used by health care professionals, it can be learned by anyone. Participants don’t need any formal training to attend this workshop.

The course is delivered over 2 consecutive days, attendance on both days is required.

When: Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th of March 2018 (attendance on both days is required)

Time: 8.30am – 4:30pm (prompt start)

Venue: Foyer Oxford

196 Oxford Street, Leederville.

Who: Adults and Youth [16 years of age or more]

Cost: Free (as part of AnglicareWA’s efforts to support West Australian

Communities to become Suicide Safer)

Registration by Friday 23rd March

Please note: Lunch will be catered with a range of vegetarian and gluten free options. Coffee break refreshments and light snacks will also be available.

Facilitators: Experienced community service and mental health professionals from AnglicareWA
