Implementing and Using Apple School Manager

1 Day Training

This practical hands on course will provide the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully implement and operate Apple School Manager. Apple School Manager (ASM) is a web-based portal for IT administrators to manage people, Apple devices, and content all from one place. Apple have recently made large improvements so that Apple School Manager is ready for schools, integrating fully with many mobile device management servers (MDMs). Apple School Manager replaces the DEP portal and is only available to education so this course is not suitable for those in the enterprise sector.

• Any education staff considering replacing their DEP portal with Apple School Manager
• Education staff who need to learn how to use, or plan the implementation of, Apple School Manager
• School IT coordinators and technical staff who wish to see the benefits or restrictions available in Apple School Manager.

Apple School Manager is an education only product and as such this course is not suitable for those in the enterprise sector.


Prerequisites

• Working for or with an education institution
• Your education institution has or intends applying for an Apple Deployment Program (DEP) account
• Your education institution has or intends using a Mobile Device Management service

Trainer

Richard Gynes, MSc. ACT, ACTC is an Apple Certified Trainer and service engineer. After studying design and photography Richard worked as a museum photographer in the UK, before moving to education.
Richard has actively been involved with Apple computer and iPad deployments for many schools and businesses. Since 2007 he has been conducting Apple Mac, iPad and software training in Australia.
