Event description
The Australia and New Zealand Association of Planning Schools (ANZAPS) 2021 conference hosted by the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).

About this event

The University of Technology Sydney invites you to participate in ANZAPS 2021 to discuss the role of planning education and research in shaping the planners of a post-pandemic world.

The Covid-19 pandemic abruptly disrupted our everyday lives. The world and the cities in which we live have changed. We were all required to re-shape business-as-usual. Some trends shifted, others were strengthened, and we are now at a point where we reflect on these trends and question which ones will linger and shape a different future. In the same vein, planning education had to adapt to these sudden changes and was predominantly forced to a global use of online learning. We experienced how technology can be used to deepen and support teaching-learning, simultaneously of realising the value of contact time as part of the student experience. We are still in the process of reflecting on the new challenges and opportunities, and rethinking how we teach and the skills, values, knowledge and capabilities that future planners would need in this new post-pandemic reality.
