Discover the people, places and stories that underpin the Queensland war experience on this free guided tour of Anzac Square Memorial Galleries.
Our experienced guides will take you on an interactive journey from the First World War to today—exploring highlights from State Library’s digital collection of military stories, diaries, letters, photographs and artefacts—with featured items tailored to suit your interests.
Collection Highlights tour
- Tour departs every Wednesday at 10:30am (excluding public holidays)
- Duration: 30-45 minutes
- Location: Meet at the main entrance of the Anzac Square Memorial Galleries (look for the large double brass doors located beneath the Shrine of Remembrance, on the left corner of the Anzac Square parklands)

Number of attendees
In order to comply with Queensland Health COVID-19 guidelines, tour groups are limited to a maximum of 15 participants per Gallery (including staff).
Large groups (including Schools) wishing to organise a tour should contact the Anzac Square Visitor Services team on the contact details above.

Please let us know, via the booking form, if you have mobility challenges. All interactive screens in the galleries are wheelchair accessible. Ambulant toilets are also available in the Post World War II Memorial Gallery.
Contact tracing
Visitors are required to provide contact tracing details – name, email address and phone number, on arrival.

Two days’ notice for cancellation of tours would be appreciated. Please cancel via Eventbrite. Alternatively, email anzacsquare@slq.qld.gov.au or contact us on 0466 922 259.

COVID-19 information
The Queensland Government announced on 11 January that some safety measures would be in place for Greater Brisbane from 6pm 11 January to 1am 22 January.
In line with government advice, from Tuesday 12 January you must wear a mask throughout your visit to Anzac Square Memorial Galleries. Children under 12 years and people affected by a medical condition or disability are exempt. More information is available from the Queensland Government.
Numbers are restricted in each space in accordance with Queensland Health guidelines. Spaces are sanitised regularly and sanitising products are available for visitor use.

Please note the following conditions of entry before your visit to Anzac Square:
1) You will not be able to enter Anzac Square Memorial Galleries if:
- You currently have COVID-19.
- You have been told to quarantine.
- You are unwell or are displaying COVID-19 or cold/flu symptoms, no matter how mild.
- You have been in contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
- You have returned from overseas travel in the last 14 days.
- You have returned from a declared COVID-19 hotspot in the last 14 days.
2) You must wear a mask (children under 12 years and people affected by a medical condition or disability are exempt).
3) Use the hand sanitiser provided before you enter.
4) Your details will be requested via our booking systems, and this information may be forwarded to Queensland Health if necessary for COVID-19 contact tracing procedures.
5) Keep 1.5 metres away from others at all times.
6) EFTPOS transactions are preferred.
The conditions may be subject to change.
When you arrive for the event, you will need to check in by scanning the QR code. Alternatively, you can download the Sine Pro app to your phone before you arrive for a quicker check-in.
