#ANU3MT: Persuasive and strategic communication for the Sciences
Event Information
Description
Persuasive and strategic communication - for the Sciences
This workshop is designed to introduce the latest research into effective persuasive and strategic communication in the context of science. Using interpersonal, written, and public communication examples, we work with you to discover how to frame and craft messages to best suit your audiences and goals, specifically the 3 Minute Thesis. This workshop uses improvisation techniques developed in the theatre - as well as those developed in collaboration with the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science at Stony Brook University - to help those who need to communicate become more spontaneous, direct, personal and responsive.
By the end of this workshop you will:
- Know how to connect communicators and audiences, including professional colleagues, students, and public audiences
- Learn and practice effective persuasive and strategic communication techniques
- Learn dramatic techniques to enhance your presentation skills
This workshop will be presented by Dr Will Grant from the Australian National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science CPAS.
