Event description
Workshop how ANU might best prevent and respond to sexual violence in the University

About this Event

The Respectful Relationships Unit has developed a draft ANU Sexual Violence Prevention Strategy which is now available for consultation with students and staff. The Strategy aims to guide a critical aspect of the University’s work in fostering an inclusive, open and respectful ANU, which reflects the diversity of our nation. As such, this Strategy aims to support the overarching Equity and Diversity objectives of the ANU Strategic Plan 2019-2022.

The Strategy will be implemented in three phases, with the first phase commencing in 2019. Each phase will be supported by a rolling action plan.

As part of the consultation on the Strategy, the Respectful Relationships Unit is hosting two workshops with ANU staff (both Academic and Professional) to explore ideas for inclusion into the first rolling action plan. Participants will be asked to consider how ANU might best prevent and respond to sexual violence in the staff context after being briefed on the Strategy, including an overview of the drivers and reinforcing factors of sexual violence and violence against women.

The University is committed to providing a safe and respectful campus. This page contains links to support for survivors of sexual assault and harassment, progress reports on the Respectful Relationships Project, reporting, training and much more. This session will be facilitated by Ben Gill and Sue Webeck from the Respectful Relationships Unit.

Strictly limited places.
