Description

For the first time, NECTAR in 2018 will be the host of an ANU-wide mentoring program with Early Career Academic staff as the mentees, with internationally renowned academic career coach Shelda Debowski.

Mentors and mentees can register on this site.

  • Mentors – Do you have experience as a researcher, entrepreneur or teacher? Then you can be a mentor! Everyone has experience that is relevant and useful to someone. Please register here. If in doubt please contact the NECTAR team on 61 2 6125 7165, today.
  • Mentees -Early Career Academics - must be employed at ANU for the full duration of the program (April 2018-April 2019). All are welcome to apply but placements are limited (by the number of mentors recruited). HINT - answer the question 'what do you want to get out of participating' with some thought.

The program:

11-12 April 2018 - program introductory sessions

  • mentees - The strategic academic (full day workshop, plus free lunch)
  • mentors - The strategic mentor (3 hr workshop plus free lunch)
  • Mentees will nominate their preferred mentors following these sessions.

May - mentee/mentor pairs matched by matching committee

5 June

  • Mentee/mentor pairs meet for first time - induction (30 min) and morning tea

30 October

  • mentees (Full day workshop and free lunch)
  • mentors (free lunch)
  • evaluated the program

27 March 2019

  • program finale (workshops for mentees (full day) and lunch with mentors and 2019 cohort)
