Description

Congratulations on joining the ANU community!

Whether you are an international student, from Australia or a Canberra local, attendance at Orientation week (O-week) from Monday 17 July 2017 is designed to help you succeed in the early stages of your program

The welcome (which will commence at 9am) will include a Welcome to Country, a welcome from the Vice Chancellor of the ANU, Professor Brian Schmidt. He was the winner of the 2011 Nobel Prize in Physics, and was an astrophysicist at the ANU Mount Stromlo Observatory and Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics before becoming Vice-Chancellor.

You will also meet Professor Hughes-Warrington who is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) at ANU. She is responsible for enhancing the University's national and global leadership in the provision of research-led education, and strengthening regional, national and international connections in curriculum, education commercialisation, philanthropy and educational research.

The morning will also give you the opportunity to meet other students and familarise yourself with the ANU campus and community.

Please register to attend and to receive your FREE lunch.

Here is a map to the venue, the ANU School of Music, which is located on Childers Street.

Bus: You can check the Action Bus timetable and catch a bus to the event.

Walk: If you will be living on campus you can walk to the event. If you have time before the day, locate the building and walk from your residence to see how long it will take you on the day.

Drive: Parking on or near campus will cost money and there is no guarentee you will be able to find a parking space for your car on the day. If you plan to drive to ANU throughout the year you can organise an ANU Parking Permit online before the day.
