About this event

At the outset of WWII, with many of its closest allies falling to Nazi domination, Britain was becoming desperate. Under direct orders from Winston Churchill, his newest spy agency – the Special Operations Executive – began recruiting and training women as spies. The belief was that women would be able to more around more freely than men in occupied territories, as they secretly carried out sabotage, subversion and resistance behind enemy lines.

In London, Romanian Jewish immigrant Vera Atkins (Stana Katic), recruits two unusual candidates: Virginia Hall (Sarah Megan Thomas), an ambitious American with a wooden leg, and Noor Inayat Khan (Radhika Atpe), a Muslim pacifist. Together, this unlikely sisterhood risks their lives to help to undermine the Nazi regime in France, leaving an unmistakable legacy in their wake.

An engrossing and thrilling fact-based spy drama, A Call to Spy is a tribute to a courageous and diverse group of women whose story has largely gone untold.
