Event description
Anthony Laube is a librarian at the State Library of South Australia and an author with a passion for local and family history.

About this event

Anthony Laube is a librarian at the State Library of South Australia and an author with a passion for local and family history. Born in Victor Harbor, Anthony's family have lived on the Fleurieu since the 1860's.

Under Peeralilla describes the history of the European settlement of Hindmarsh Valley and includes biographies of some 200 families and individuals who have farmed and lived at the Valley since 1838.

Originally 'Hindmarsh Valley' designated all the area from the source of the river at Hindmarsh Tiers down to the coast, including what is now Victor Harbor. While mostly a farming district, there was also a school and chapel in the Valley.
