Description

Annual Gus Dur Memorial Lecture 2016

"Empowering Muslim: Youth, Women and Islamic Schools against Radicalism"

Radicalism is a contemporary threat to mankind. A number of radical actions such as terrorism and bombings are claimed in the name of religion and jihad. How could we prevent it?

PCI NU ANZ, DDM, Indonesian Studies (Monash University), and Consulate General of Repblic Indonesia in Melbourne proudly present Annual Gus Dur Memorial Lecture 2016 as an effort to remember and discuss ideas and legacy of the late KH. Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur) in strengthening the role of Muslims in fighting against radicalism, particularly by empowering young people, women, and Islamic school roles.
