Having recently put the finishing touches on their album, Andy Irvine, solo performer as well as collaborator with legendary bands, Sweeney's men, Planxty, Patrick St, Mozaik, LAPD teams up with Luke Plumb of Shooglenifty, producer and composer fame to tour Australia and launch their CD.
Andy is one of the great Irish singers, his voice one of a handful of truly great ones that gets to the very soul of Ireland. He has been hailed as "a tradition in himself". Musician, singer, songwriter, Andy has maintained his highly individual performing skills throughout his 45 year career.
To quote the Irish Times, "Often copied, never equalled", his repertoire consists of Irish traditional songs, dexterous Balkan dances and a compelling cannon of his own self-penned songs.
The pair will be riding the folk festival wave around the country and we are thrilled they will be dropping through to play at Fairlight folk.
