About this Event

Have you just bought your first DSLR… now what? Buying your first serious camera being a DSLR or a mirrorless system camera  is very exciting, but all those controls can be a bit intimidating!

Why You Will Love This Course: This course is developed to outline how to set up your camera ready to take your first few shots.  This informative course is ideal for first-time DSLR users who would like to gain an understanding of some of the terminology and techniques used in digital photography.  

You'll learn how to overcome many of the challenges when first starting in your photography and how to quickly and confidently control your DSLR camera. The course will demonstrate the the principles of better composition.  A look at the 3 key elements of exposure, when and how to use priority modes, aperture control and depth of field so you can gain a better understanding of manual shooting. Before you know it you will be taking more creative shots as you gain more of an understanding of the photography basics and techniques.

Use your digital SLR to its full potential and master the following techniques.

A guide to the principles of better composition

About Your Trainer: Lindsay has been running photography workshops in Adelaide for 17 years since moving here from his native Scotland. He studied Audio Visual Technology in his home town of Edinburgh, before moving to London and then to Berlin. After owning a studio and photo lab in the UK, he then moved to Australia to pursue his passion for photography and teaching. As well as conducting training for Diamonds, he also conducts the photography training program for Adelaide Zoo.
