Event description

Description

Domestic Homicide Review (DHR) Chair & Doctoral Researcher, James Rowlands will discuss DHRs and how they can improve prevention and intervention strategies and reduce the likelihood of future homicides.

To date, scholarly interest has focused on the aggregation and secondary analysis of DHR findings. There has been limited research into the operation of DHRs themselves. Offering both a practitioner and researcher perspective, James will provide an overview of policy and practice in England and Wales and draw on key issues in the conceptualisation and function of DHRs.

James Rowlands

James has worked in the domestic violence sector in the UK for 14 years and is undertaking a PhD at the University of Sussex on the effectiveness of Domestic Homicide Reviews in reducing homicides and their relevance to improving policy and practice.
