Event description

Description

Tim Macartney-Snape AM joins us in Sydney for an evening of adventure and inspiration.

On 3 October 1984, Macartney-Snape and Greg Mortimer were the first Australians to reach the summit of Mount Everest. They reached the summit, climbing without supplementary oxygen, via a new route on the North Face. In 1990, Macartney-Snape became the first person to walk and climb from sea level to the top of Mount Everest. Macartney-Snape is also the founder of the Sea to Summit range of outdoor gear, a guide for World Expeditions, and a founding director and patron of the World Transformation Movement.

***Please note: the presentation will commence promptly at 6.30pm. Please arrive from 6pm. Light refreshments will be available prior to the presentation. NZAC members will have the opportunity to network and continue the conversation with Tim over dinner at a nearby venue (TBA) following the talk.

Tickets are transferable but not refundable. Tickets are limited and will be sold online up until the event. Any remaining tickets will be available at the door (but purchase at the door cannot be guaranteed).

This event is proudly supported by the New Zealand Alpine Club - Australia section. Please visit alpineclub.org.nz for more details.
