AN EVENING WITH ANDREW JASPAN
Thu. 18 May 2017, 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm AEST
The Australian African Chamber of Commerce (AACC), The American Chamber of Commerce in Australia (AmCham Australia) and Russell Kennedy Lawyers are pleased to present Andrew Jaspan, founder of The Conversation.
The Conversation is now Australia’s largest independent news and commentary site, with around 35% of their readership coming from outside Australia. They are operating in five markets: Australia, Africa, the US, the UK and France.
Andrew previously edited The Age, The Observer (London), The Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday. He was Editor-in-Chief of The Big Issue (London), and he founded and edited the Sunday Herald in Scotland. He is the Asia-Pacific Director for Innovation Media.
He founded The Conversation in 2011 in Melbourne as an independent source of news and views, sourced from the academic and research community, delivered direct to the public.
Andrew will elaborate on some of the challenges, successes and key lessons learnt while establishing a high growth international organisation from Australia with a particular emphasis on South Africa and the US.
