Event description

Description

Join us for an Evening of Happiness as we celebrate the UN's International Day of Happiness and bring some inspiration to your Wednesday evening.

This year's theme is Share Happiness - we are focusing on the importance of relationships, kindness and helping each other. During this engaging and interactive event our incredible speakers will share various techniques and tips that research suggests can improve your wellbeing and happiness.

We have four great speakers again this year:

  • Roz Rimes - Roz is an educator, coach, guest lecturer and founder of social enterprise ‘Live with Zest’. She has a Masters of Applied Positive Psychology and works with her Australian Labradoodles Flash and Rafa, who have advanced Canine-Assisted Therapy qualifications. Roz and Flash have been a volunteer therapy team, soothing and strengthening patients for over seven years at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and now St Vincent’s Private Hospital.

  • Dr Narelle Lemon - Narelle is an Associate Professor in Education at Swinburne University of Technology. She has a background as an arts educator and researches and publishes in the area of engagement and participation in the arts, social media for learning, and mindfulness practices. Narelle is studying a Masters of Applied Positive Psychology and founded Explore and Create Co that offers strengths-based coaching, workshops and interventions.

  • Peta Minter - Peta is the founder and director, of Positive Music, a company that custom designs corporate team-building events, well-being programs, drum circle facilitator training and meditation music. Peta composes and records her own ambient music for relaxation and meditation. She has performed with some of Australia's top musicians and to sellout crowds in Japan and is also a certified personal coach.

  • Michael Inglis - Michael is an endorsed and accredited Sport, Performance and Exercise Psychologist and has been working in the mental health field since 1999. He is the co-director of the Mind Room and believes in a holistic approach to performance and that the wellbeing of athletes off-the-field is just as important as their performance on-the-field.

The evening will be hosted by Board Member of Action for Happiness Australia, Marc Jongebloed. 100% of profits from the event will go to support our work to create a happier and more compassionate society.

Doors open at 6.30pm for a 6.45pm start. We will be serving light refreshments and tea and coffee again this year. Plus, there's also an opportunity to pre-purchase wine and beer (please note, there will be no opportunity to purchase alcohol on the evening).

So join us for this fun and inspiring evening of learning and connection with others who share the same passion for happiness and wellbeing.
