An emerging online market for third-party substitutable SMART on FHIR apps holds great promise for supporting improved health and healthcare through augmenting electronic health records (EHRs). However, to protect against unintended negatives outcomes, care must be taken to evaluate and refine these apps using rigorous evaluation practices. In this presentation, Polina Kukhareva reflects on

University of Utah ReImagine EHR initiative’s journey to adapt and extend existing methodologies for evaluation of SMART on FHIR apps using cognitive psychology and data science approaches.
