Description

UPDATE:

In line with Australian Government guidelines on social distancing, and non-essential travel, gatherings and events in response to COVID-19, all Defence Community Organisation social events will be postponed. Everyone who has already registered for tickets will receive email advice.

We’re continuing to review how we can support you and your family in this rapidly changing environment. While our social events and information sessions have been postponed, support and information is still available 24/7 from the Defence Family Helpline on 1800 624 608 or email defencefamilyhelpline@defence.gov.au

See our website for details on support for families during emergency or crisis www.defence.gov.au/dco

NOTE: This event is only for full-time serving members of the Australian Defence Force and their immediate families.

ADF members and their immediate families are invited to join us for Easter celebrations at Keswick Barracks. The morning will be filled with lots of fun including a visit from the Easter bunny, chocolate eggs for the kids, face painting and you can also explore the Army museum. Bring a picnic rug and indulge in a hot cross bun and a coffee for the parents. The celebrations commence at 9am sharp.

Please bring either printed or electronic versions of your tickets as you will be required to show them at the event.

In line with the advice of the Chief Medical Officer and the Australian Government, Defence is currently reconsidering upcoming events to protect the people involved. The latest advice is that outdoor events with less than 500 people and indoor events with less than 100 people may still go ahead, provided that social distancing and hygiene principles are followed.

This includes:

  • covering your coughs and sneezes with your elbow or a tissue
  • disposing of tissues properly
  • washing your hands often with soap and water or using alcohol-based hand sanitiser where not available
  • not touching your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean
  • avoiding physical contact with others.

Do not attend if you are sick, or if you have been overseas or been exposed to someone with COVID-19 in the past two weeks. People who are in a higher risk category such as those with a chronic illness and the elderly should seek advice from their healthcare provider on how best to manage their health risks during this time.

It is important that you check current public health advice on the Department of Health website. ADF families can call the Defence Family Helpline on 1800 624 608 at any time for information and advice.
