Action learning for DFV, sexual violence and women's health practitioners and those in leadership positions.

About this Event


How do we ensure all the people coming to our service, and those who might come, feel culturally safe?

The action learning process is an opportunity to test, reflect and plan for more inclusive services. The process will provide support from our facilitator and other participants as we all reflect, identify, examine and develop actions to create strategic change in our workplaces.

Action learning is an inclusive and accessible form of learning where individuals explore an agreed topic and work towards achieving growth and change in practice.  

This action learning opportunity explores inclusion for people who identify as LGBTIQ, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, culturally and linguistically diverse populations and people with a disability.

The Learning Process

  • An in depth understanding of action learning, a process that you can apply to other learnings within your workplace 
  • An opportunity to discover priorities to unlock the potential within your organisation to engage in inclusive practice 
  • An opportunity to design, test and evaluate strategies through experiential learning in your organisation and support to engage your whole team in the process 
  • Individualised support to guide and scaffold your learning 
  • The opportunity to connect and learn from diverse stakeholders across the sector  
  • The opportunity to share and celebrate your learnings.

In order to facilitate a supportive environment where learning is enhanced, we are asking that two people attend per organization across the entire series.

WorkUP Queensland is delivered by The Healing Foundation and ANROWS to build and grow capability and capacity of the sexual violence, women's health and domestic and family violence sector over the next five years.

Who should attend

Domestic and Family Violence, Sexual violence and Women’s Health practitioners. There is a requirement for two nominees to attend from each organisation, at least one person must hold a leadership position.

About the facilitator

Eileen Heywood

Eileen has been facilitating mentoring programs for professional associations and clients in the public, private, tertiary and not-for-profit sectors for over 20 years.   Eileen's work is informed by strengths-based approaches including Appreciative Inquiry and a Solutions focus. Since 2005, this approach sees her consulting in a wide range on contexts from change management and leadership, culture transformation to strategic planning, program evaluation and emotional intelligence.
