Event description

Description

Amy's Bike Skills is a FREE 4-week program for women over 50 that is designed to give you the skills and confidence to ride your bike more often.

Developed by the Amy Gillett Foundation and delivered by experienced female instructors from Wheel Women, Amy's Bike Skills teaches safe cycling skills, navigation skills and basic bike maintenance skills.

This is the first of two Amy's Bike Skills programs for women aged 50 or over in Geelong. It will run for 4-weeks:

  • Sunday 22 October, 9:00am - 11:00am
  • Sunday 29 October, 9:00am - 11:00am
  • Sunday 05 November, 9:00am - 11:00am
  • Sunday 12 November, 9:00am - 11:00am

Each week we'll meet at the Promenade off Barrabool Road, Belmont (adjacent to Barwon Valley Fun Park). We'll be using a mix of off-road bike paths and quiet streets to practice various skills. We'll return to the Promenade at the end of each session.

The program is not suitable for complete beginners and participants are expected to already have some basic riding skills. The program will build on these skills and give you the confidence to ride more.

Every participant will receive a free showbag of goodies and a free drink in local café during every session.
